GCSE Psychology - 1 year course  starting June 2025

Course includes:

  • 1 hour of live tuition once a week. (term time only) - Thursday 11-12pm 

  • Self Study tasks set weekly and personalised feedback given .

  • All PowerPoints and recordings shared

  • Support materials for revision 
  • Marking of extra tasks and  exam questions students choose to complete
  • £50 a month
  • £40  if you are already signed up to GCSE Philosophy and Ethics 
  • £35 recorded course only 

 

Course content 

Part 1
Topic 1: Development – How did you develop?
● Topic2:Memory–How does your memory work?
● Topic 3: Psychological problems – How would psychological problems affect you?
● Topic 4: The brain and neuropsychology – How does your brain affect you?
● Topic 5: Social influence – How do others affect you?

Part 2
● Topic 6: Criminal psychology – Why do people become criminals?
● Topic 7: The self – What makes you who you are?
● Topic 11: Research methods – How do you carry out psychological research?

 

This course is primarily aimed at home-educated children. However, if you would like to take this as an additional GCSE alongside your school studies, you are welcome to enroll. You can watch the weekly recordings, join the live lessons during school holidays, and submit your weekly tasks for feedback.

Where do I sit the exam?

You will need to find your local exam centre, which may be at a school, college or an independent centre for your child to sit the exam.
